An unexpected treat

I went to the Monte Sano Art Show on Saturday, and it was absolutely awesome. While I was visiting a friend’s pottery booth, this leaf fell on her canopy. If you just looked at the leaf directly, it was kind of ugly: shriveled and mostly brown, with some green still on one end. But the way the sun shone on it through the canopy, it had a luminous sparkle that made everyone in the booth stop for a minute and admire it. I love moments like that. Saturday was definitely a day that counted! In fact, it counted enough for about ten days. Now it’s Monday, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have more moments like that. Let’s all seek out stillness and unexpected beauty, and savor it when we find it.
